In May this year, Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy launched India’s first vaccine vehicle (a two-wheeler). During the launch, the Minister proposed that like vaccine vehicle, a two-wheeler ambulance too would be launched in Telangana.
According to senior health officials, the present 108 vehicles are unable to enter into congested streets in several parts of the city. It was becoming a logistical nightmare for emergency patients who reside in areas where a big 108 ambulance can’t move freely through the traffic.
In addition to reaching the patients quickly by beating the traffic, the two-wheeler ambulances are also expected to reach interior colonies of Hyderabad and provide emergency care to the patients.
