Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) collaborated with Startup India and Invest India of Industrial Policy and promotion on September 15, to promote entrepreneurship in tier II and III cities of Telangana state. The yatra will happen in 12 districts of Telangana between September 15 to October 5 and estimated to impact more than 6000 entrepreneurs.
The yatra will spread awareness about the state innovation policy and the initiatives taken by the state. The Yatra which was flagged off by Minister for Information Technology, Sri KT Rama Rao at Hyderabad on Saturday will be covering in its journey Mahbubnagar on September 17 and Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Adilabad, Nirmal and Nizamabad on subsequent dates to end at Sangareddy on October 1.
And, at the end of the Yatra, 200 innovations would be showcased in the grand finale to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) on October 5. The Yatra touches different colleges in these places to create awareness about the Startup ecosystem, including various schemes of the State and Central governments to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Government of Telangana is active in bringing the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the state. Telangana State Innovation cell (TSIC) is one such recent initiative by the Telangana Government other than T-Hub, T-works, We-Hub etc. to accelerate the startup ecosystem.
The Startup India Yatra is a platform which aims to help aspiring entrepreneurs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities realize their startup dream. Entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to get their Startups incubated i.e., coached and prepared in one of the best incubators to succeed in their journey from idea to enterprise.
The start-up India Telangana Yatra will be launched by Hon’ble Minister for ITE&C, KT Rama Rao on 15th September and will go on till 5th October, 2018. As part of the Yatra, 12 boot camps are planned in 12 different districts of Telangana. All the Boot Camps will have ideation workshops and idea pitching sessions to give Entrepreneurship exposure to the students. Aspiring/Budding Entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to the panel and people with best ideas will get a golden opportunity to participate in a 2-day acceleration program with a best incubator. Finally, people whose ideas got shortlisted will get a chance to pitch for offers by incubators and incentives by the State Government.
Apart from the boot camps, a Startup India Yatra van will travel to various cities of Telangana with the following objectives:
1. Spreading awareness about Startup India and Telangana Startup Policy
2. Opportunity to pitch an idea and get selected for the acceleration programme
